Legoland is one of Huntington Beach’s favorite, local theme parks to take the kids. And now when you go, you have a lot less to think about. More than 1.3 million children are homeless during some point, and that number is increasing in the U.S. Many homeless youth may be victims of past trauma. While trying to survive on the streets, they are exposed to dangers, including a vulnerability to being trafficked.
A panel of experts will present information in a panel discussion about homeless youth in Orange County. Guest speakers include Billy O’Connell, Colette’s Children’s Home; Justine Madison, Stand up for Kids; Katherine Tillotson, Building Futures; and Elsa Greenfield, Huntington Beach Youth Shelter.

Surf City is filled with eats–and what’s really “sweet” is the fact that many of the restaurants feature outdoor dining. Yet the citizens of communities don’t want to look at cell towers next to their homes, and they don’t want to risk the potential effects of them.
Huntington Beach, Calif.–Bright red tents in the parking lot of Del Taco at Springdale & Warner were set up by KROQ FM to honor the 39 cent taco promotion. Nate Chang with Del Taco corporate; Janis Chavez, marketing director for local Del Taco; and “Beer Mug”, the traveling KROQ spokesperson for the Del Taco tour and appearing on Kevin & Bean radio program invited contestants to bob their heads in water to open the taco sauce packets for prizes, dance, jump, and have fun.

Anyone who answers a telephone in a California city with “Huntington” in the name quickly learns that visitors are seeking the Huntington Library & Gardens in San Marino. This estate offers a tour of the mansion in which Henry E. Huntington resided during his life. The beautiful acres of gardens, art gallery and library with significant collections such as the Gutenberg Bible, all are worth the visit to the Los Angeles attraction.

“Why did you pick Huntington Beach? ” asked a Havaianas shopper, Barbara Steinberg from Sacramento. The Brazilian clerk who customized a pair of shoes for the first-time buyer said that Surf City provided the perfect place with year-round warm climate to launch a brand that has been in existence in Brazil for over 40 years–long before the employee was born. The shoes are sold in Nordstrom and other department stores, but Huntington Beach became part of Havaianas company timeline, making history as the first store to open in the U.S. in June 2010. Located in Pierside Pavilion at 300 Main Street next to Huntington Surf & Sport, Huntington Beach’s only downtown art gallery has been replaced and the management of the new shop says sales are exceeding expectations.
As news about the break up of Miley Cyrus and her Australian actor – boyfriend Liam Hemsworth fades after guests confirmed they saw him with a beautiful blonde at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach during the U.S. Open of Surfing in August, the dust doesn’t settle much on this beach town and its trendy, new hotel. Girls ball teams poured into the beach-facing property with their athletic equipment this past weekend, while a bevy of women dressed in pink and wearing crowns stepped out on the town as part of a Diva convention sponsored by Beauty Society.
