Home for the Holidays at the Newland House Museum
Over 100 people visited the Newland House Museum in Huntington Beach for the annual holiday reception complete with a Christmas Tree, holiday decor, house tours and delicious cookies & hot apple cider. Phil Flora of Huntington Beach, California, agreed to pay $32,000 to settle charges brought in February by the Federal Trade Commission for sending out millions of text messages for loan-modification services, aimed at financially stressed homeowners with underwater mortgages. His service used the domain name loanmod-gov.net, but had no affiliation with any government agency. Flora was accused of collecting personal details of people who responded, and continued to bombard them …
