Huntington Beach was founded in 1909, and was named after business tycoon, Henry E. Huntington. Sometimes confused with other Huntingtons, you’ll find the Huntington Library & Gardens in San Marino, CA, and Huntington Park, both in Los Angeles County.
Huntington Beach is located in Orange County, which is comprised of approx. three million people. Huntington Beach is the county’s fourth largest city by population, and enjoys around 200,000 local residents who participate and contribute to the city’s diversity and ocean lifestyle.
There are several shopping centers and malls with the three main shopping districts being Huntington Beach Downtown, Bella Terra, and Five Points Plaza.
The city has five beach facing hotels, one convention center to house approx. 500 guests at conventions, and has many tourist assets.

Please let your readers know about the upcoming Surf City Beach Derby on Nov. 6 in HB. It is a redux of the former HB Distance Derby. I have a press release I would like to send you with all the information, but I cannot find any contact info about your online paper anywhere. The run is a 10K or 10 miler on PCH and a 2K/5K Obstacle Course on the beach by the Pier. Proceeds will benefit Project Self-Sufficiency.
