Huntington Beach, California was incorporated in 1909 and has grown to become one of the most desirable residential beach communities in Orange County, Calif. The city enjoys year-round mild climate, 9.275 miles of sun-soaked sandy beaches, one of the largest municipal cement piers in California, paved bike paths on the beach, a dog beach, and hosts over 11 million visitors annually.
Named for Henry E. Huntington, a Los Angeles-based investor who is commemorated and remembered through Huntington Library & Gardens in San Marino, the city shares a similar name with Huntington Park in Los Angeles, Huntington, New York, and Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina.
The fifth largest city in Orange County has a population of around 200,000 people, features a pleasure craft harbor (Huntington Harbour) and is considered the hub of youthful outdoor sports and entertainment. It’s dowtown Main Street features dozens of outdoor restaurants and shops selling surfboards, contemporary clothes and gifts.
The two largest shopping malls in the city are Five Points Plaza at Main Street & Beach Blvd., and Bella Terra at Edinger and Beach Blvd.
