Event Overload in Surf City

How do you spend your Sundays in Huntington Beach? Most of us will have visited or called a father to wish him Happy Father’s Day. And some will take a father out for entertainment, dining, and concerts. In Huntington Beach on Father’s Day Weekend 2010 there was no shortage of activities to enjoy–and most of them were free!

Downtown Huntington Beach and the beach were humming with the Surf City Chili at the Beach annual event sponsored by the HB Downtown Improvement Business District. Right around the corner from Main was the grand opening of a new exhibit from the HB International Surfing Museum, plus a free Surfin’ Sunday concert.

Down on the beach itself was a 24 Hour Surf-a-thon with celebrity surfers raising money for ocean-related causes.

Over at the Newland Barn, Pinot & Pups were raising money to help animal causes.

And for those opting for a relaxing day at home, the 110th US Open in Pebble Beach provided incredible entertainment on TV with Mickelson, Johnson, McDowell, Tiger, Els, Love, and Havret creating cheers.

Whatever you opted for, when in HB there’s one thing for certain–the best is yet to come for the summer of 2010! What’s coming up? 4th of July Parade, U.S. Open of Surfing and Beach Games, free concerts, and endless beach parties.
