Have you had your bratwurst today?

german

Oktoberfest is a favorite celebration and with good reason. Live band play music everyone can dance to. Ice cold beers are served on tap. People are happy. The girls wear cut dress. The guys wear leather shorts with suspenders to hold them up. And the people eat lots of German food shown on the plate. We recently attended the newest Oktoberfest that is fashioned after the authentic events in Germany. The food is prepared by Bristol Farms, and it is really good. If you order the full meal, you get both sauerkraut and sweet, red cabbage, a huge bratwurst, and the softest potatoes mixed with little pieces of bacon.  A lady goes around with thin pretzels on a stick. If you buy one, you are in for a treat–they are slightly sweet, slightly salty, and really tasty.  There are four more days to enjoy this event with 17 carnival rides, unlimited with admission. Held n El Dorado Park, it is a nice place to spend the day or evening, and if you have kids, you can’t beat the $5 admission for them that keeps them busy in safe environment, riding little cars, carousels, and other kids’ ride. The pumpkin patches charge around that much just for one or two rides alone. More info: longbeachoktoberfest.com
