Orange County Homeless Youth – Panel Discussion Sept. 23, 2010

Homeless teen girlMore than 1.3 million children are homeless during some point, and that number is increasing in the U.S. Many homeless youth may be victims of past trauma. While trying to survive on the streets, they are exposed to dangers, including a vulnerability to being trafficked.

A panel of experts will present information in a panel discussion about homeless youth in Orange County. Guest speakers include Billy O’Connell, Colette’s Children’s Home; Justine Madison, Stand up for Kids; Katherine Tillotson, Building Futures; and Elsa Greenfield, Huntington Beach Youth Shelter.

Sponsored by Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach, the event will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost:$20 (includes buffet dinner & beverage).
