Beach Parking Report for US Open of Surfing Weekend Finale
Huntington Beach, Surf City — If you arrived at the beach this morning at 9:30 a.m., you could have parked at 14th Street and walked to the pier. If you are heading out now or anytime today, Sat., Aug. 7, 2010, good luck! The place is packed. Some creative parking ideas include: Park along Coast Highway in other cities and hop on the coastal bus between Seal Beach and Newport Beach to get let off in front of the HB Pier. The cost is around $1.50 each way. Also, try parking in and around 2000 Main Street at City Hall in Huntington Beach and take the Beach Bus from the parking lot. Cost is free. Good luck! Plaza Almeria: Closed this morning. Surfing Museum parking lot sold out. City Garage at 200 Main, closed and sold out. Beach parking lots sold out at Huntington City Beach near the Huntington Beach Pier. One final thought–maybe you will get lucky and somebody will be leaving as you drive by. That would be great!
