Dean Torrence Brings Endless Summer to Hyatt Regency HB

endless summerOn a beautiful, endless summer night in Surf City, Dean Torrence presents a free concert with songs about girls, boys, skating, surfing, and Surfin’ USA.  The event held at the outdoor courtyard at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa falls directly on the heels of a week of film crews using the hotel facilities. The Hyatt has become the film industry’s best “at the beach” friend, but locals consider it their very own slice of beach hospitality.

What inspired Dean to sing in his own home town? The musician who wrote and performed hits that he and partner Jan Berry (deceased) performed around the globe brought fame to California and the beach lifestyle. Torrence is working this “paid gig” thanks to the sponsor, The Gallery HB.

Owner Peggy Howell decided that summer hasn’t yet arrived or hasn’t been fulfilled. In 2010 the weather was unseasonably cool, as were ocean temperatures. While the East Coast baked, the West Coast chilled. Howell carries Torrence’s artwork in her gallery, and has enjoyed a working relationship with Torrence whose graphic art images contain themes of California surrounding California lifestyle.

While watching Golden Oldies on tv., I saw that Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean is affiliated with Kittyhawk Graphics!! My granddaughter has just graduated from college majoring in Graphic Art. She has been on-line and sent her portfolios all over. With your experience and know-how, is there anything else she needs to do to help her follow through and get on the right track.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions you can give 🙂
