Jazz Scene Thrives in Huntington Beach

concert

Just steps away from the curtain call (final day) of accordion and polka music at Old World Village Oktoberfest is a jazz concert on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Bela Musica. Featuring jazz vocalist Elizabeth Lamers, the free concert takes place in the afternoon. If you miss the wonderful sounds of this great artist, book a seat for Monday night Big Band Jazz with the famous Tom Kubis over at Don the Beachcomber. Kubis is well-known conductor and musician with a long involvement in the music industry, and especially jazz. For fantastic piano jazz, local HB resident Keiko Matsui is on the road traveling the globe performing to audiences who seek this highly sought interpreter of jazz music. And of course, you probably know that Walter Trout hails from Surf City, too. He is the best in his class–top award winner of blues music internationally. And like Matsui, he’s usually in some other country performing. Grab these fantastic acts when and where you can!  For details on these events, here’s more.
