Cool Beach is Hot in Surf City HB

the beachHuntington Beach, Calif.–When a couple of tourists from England complained recently that the weather was too cold for their liking at Surf City beaches, a resident quipped back, “Look at all the beautiful people on the beach–isn’t that hot enough for you?”

The “hot” season has arrived and no matter what the surface temperature or air temps provide, the heat is on with the upcoming US Open of Surfing and Beach Games.  With more exciting beach action than the rest of the weeks in the year combined, a nine-day span from July 31 to August 8 includes what made California famous–the most beautiful girls in the world. Bikini-clad beauties will wear the most revealing, fashionable swimsuits available, and come to see & be seen at Huntington City Beach. Most the action occurs on the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier, and the biggest concentration of activity occurs on  Thursday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 8, when the beach games open up. Surfing draws a decent crowd but the the skate bowls, stadiums for watching extreme sports, and sandy beach itself, all offer opportunities for thousands of people to wander around, stand in lines, and watch a variety of sports activities on a single beach. Those planning to visit should get to the beach and park early. A new option this year is parking at Huntington Beach City Hall during the weekends. A free shuttle will take you from the 2000 Main Street location to the downtown Huntington Beach.
